Preparation before the visit:
Before your first visit, please prepare the following: 1. Download and fill in the self-assessment form 2. Prepare your previous medical records. If you have done IVF before, we need your detailed treatment records. Please send us the above two contents before your visit. If you need to know more information, you can download and read our first visit patient information and checklist.
There is a lot to discuss during the first visit, so please allow 2 hours. IVF treatment can only begin after both parties' blood test results are normal and the informed consent form has been signed.
Initial visit
During your first visit, our specialist will ask about your and your spouse’s medical history, surgical history, or other relevant medical history, and begin an investigation into the cause of your infertility. We will also discuss your previous treatment and test results as well as future treatment options.
The first visit will involve some tests to evaluate you and decide on the best treatment plan. Depending on the results of the first visit, you may be asked to do further tests. If you have test results from within the last year, you can bring them to the clinic with you.
Tests requested by the woman
Your doctor may order a number of tests (blood tests, gynecological exams, ultrasounds, etc.) to help you determine the cause of your infertility.
Tests requested by the man
Your doctor will have you do a semen analysis to evaluate your semen volume, seminal plasma pH, sperm count, percentage of motile sperm, sperm morphology, and the number of blasts in your semen. If your sperm test is abnormal the first time, your doctor will have you repeat the sperm test and may also have you do a sperm DNA fragmentation test.
Other tests may include blood hormone tests, such as FSH, LH, estrogen, androgen (if necessary), blood tests for infectious diseases, such as AIDS, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, etc. Other tests may also be required based on your medical history.
Follow-up after the test
In most cases, your doctor will see you again to discuss your test results before you start treatment. Likewise, if you complete a treatment cycle without becoming pregnant, you should see your doctor again. Your experience from the previous treatment can be incorporated into your next treatment plan.
